Office computing in the 1950's: Univac

The UNIVersal Automatic Computer.  One of these machines was installed in the U.S. Census Bureau in 1951.  One year later, a UNIVAC successfully predicted the results of the American Presidential election.  Since then, of course, computers have become our masters.

The Canadian government got into the computer age a little later.  Below, from the 1960's:
